2. South West Slopes Merino Field Day – Thursday 1st September at Iandra Castle, Greenethorpe via Young NSW

Koonwarra will be present with a display of rams for their 34th On property Ram Sale on 28th September, plus rams and ewes to be shown in 2012 and rams to be offered at the GSSM in January 2012 at the Canberra Showground.

 

3. 34th Annual On Property Ram Sale to be held on Wednesday 28th September at Little Range, Boorowa NSW at 1pm

60 May/June 2010 drop rams to be auctioned.

5. Great Southern Supreme Merino (GSSM) Field Day – Koonwarra & Merrignee Studs will be on display at Little Range, Boorowa on Friday 20th Janury 2012

GSSM Sale at Fitzroy Pavilion, EPIC on Monday 23rd January.

 

2010 -2011

33rd Annual On Property Ram Sale was held on the new date – Wednesday 29th September

We thank all those who attended and your support was most appreciated with 52 of the 60 rams offered being sold for an average of $1,139.  Thank you to Kevin and Helene Grabham from Bathurst who bought the top priced ram Lot 4 for $2,100 and to the volume buyers at the sale who each took home 8 rams, Angus and Gayle Oberg from Bowning, and John and Christine Gay from Boorowa.

2009-2010

32nd Annual Koonwarra On-Property Ram Sale was held on Friday 9th October 2009 at Little Range.

We thank all those who attended and your support was most appreciated with 51 of the 60 rams offered being sold for an average of $956.

Thank you to Kevin and Helene Grabham from Bathurst who bought the top priced ram Lot 12 for $1400 and to the volume buyer at the sale, Angus and Gayle Oberg, from Bowning, who took home 13 rams for a top of $1250 (twice) and an average of $875.

At the annual Dubbo National Merino Ram Sale and Show, held in August 2009

Koonwarra won Reserve Champion Fine/Medium Ram March shorn.
This ram was offered for sale at Dubbo the next day and was sold for $1500.

2008-2009

31st Annual Koonwarra on property Ram Sale held on 10th October 2008, resulted in 40 of the 60 rams offered being sold for an average of $1022, with the top price at $2000.

2009 GSSM Show at Canberra Showground (17th & 18th January) Koonwarra won Champion March shorn fine wool ewe, and Reserve Champion Medium/Strong Wool Sale Ram.

2007-2008

At the 2007 Annual on-property Ram Sale 53 of the 60 rams sold with an average of $948 (GST exclusive), with the top price being $2400.

Other sale results in 07-08 (GST exclusive) were:

Bendigo 07 - 1 ram sold for $2,000

GSSM - Canberra 08 - 3 rams averaging $2,083

Stud Ewe Sale - 28th Feb 08 - 102 stud ewes averaged $70


2007

GSSM at Canberra - sold 1 ram for $1500.


2006

GSSM at Goulburn - sold 2 rams for an average of $1775

On-Property Ewe Sale - 207 ewes averages $$74

Canberra Royal Show - Champion Fine Wool March shorn Ewe

Bendigo Sheep Show & Sale - 2 rams averaged $$1,250

Hamilton Sheepvention - 2 rams averaged $1,200

On-Property Ram Sale - 53 16 month old rams averaged $909


Goulburn 2006

Two rams offered and two rams sold for an average $1775. We thank the buyers, Mr Philip Bell, Breadalbane and the Mcintosh family, Currabungla Stud, Crookwell.


The Koonwarra Stud sheep have been at the forefront of fine & fine-medium wool genetics for several decades, having consistantly won major championships and awards at all major shows in the Eastern states of Australia, including Sydney, Canberra, Bendigo, Dubbo and Melbourne.

Koonwarra won its first Stonehaven Cup at the Sydney Show, in 1972 and has since won that prestigious award a further 10 times. The new management has a long term vision and determination to be at the forefront of the merino industry.
