31st ANNUAL UNHOUSED KOONWARRA RAM SALEFRIDAY, 10TH OCTOBER 2008 at 1PMinspections from 10amPreview Day - Monday, 15th September 2008 12noon to 5pm60 June/July 2007 drop Rams2008 UNHOUSED RAM SALE CATALOGUE This will be Koonwarra Merino Stud's third sale at the new location, Little Range, 16kms from Boorowa (NSW) on the Cunningar Road towards Harden. These rams were shorn on 13th April 08, and their fleece tests will be taken about 6 weeks before the sale. Each ram will have individual fleece figures for micron, S.D., C.V., Spinning Fineness, Bodyweight, and Greasy Fleece Weight percentage. The individual details on each of the 60 rams will be available, on the website, www.koonwarrastud.com.au before the sale, after the fleece tests are taken and the rams catalogued. These rams were Gudair vaccinated as lambs out of approved vaccinated ewes. These rams will be selected by Stuart Hodgson, the Stud Classer, and Charlie & Jono Merriman, the Stud Managers. Koonwarra clients can come to the new home of Koonwarra, and know that there will be a continuity of the Koonwarra type and direction that Stuart Hodgson has been developing over the years.
Also a Preview Day of these rams will be held on Monday, 15th September in conjunction with Merrignee and Tara Park Merino Studs, with Koonwarra and Merrignee, at Little Range, open from 12 noon to 5 pm and Tara Park open from 10am to 3pm, at Tara Park.

BODY WEIGHTSWe will weigh the 60 rams in the week or so before the sale, these individual weights will be available on our website from early October. we have decided to do this to show that the rams are ready for an early joining and to let clients understand the body weights that Koonwarra rams can achieve at 15/16 months of age. We believe this is another selection trait that clients may benefit from.
FLOCK RAM SALESCommence mid October 2008, by appointment at a time that suits clients. This is done individually so each client has plenty of time to inspect and discuss their individual requirements. These rams are from the same drop as those to be offered at 31st Annual On-Property Ram Sale. There will be two grades $700 and $500 (excluding GST).
2009 KOONWARRA STUD EWE SALEThursday 26th FebruaryThis annual ewe sale is held in conjunction with Merrignee Merino Stud, on property at Little Range commencing at 1pm. Stud ewes are offered in lots of approximately 20, and there are CFA and Two-tooth age groups. |
